Lintels & Support Posts

Above every door, window and garage opening, something carries the weight of the wall above it. In older brick buildings that lintel can rust and swell, cracking the masonry. In basements, posts can settle or rot.

We fabricate and install steel lintels and support posts across Nashville and Middle Tennessee, to engineered or standard sizes. We support the wall, replace the failing member, weld and fasten it and set posts on proper footings.

Common questions about lintels & support posts

Why do brick lintels crack?

Rust expands steel, which lifts and cracks the brick above. Replacing the lintel stops it.

Do I need an engineer?

For structural openings, yes. We build to the engineer's size or use accepted standard sizes for small openings.

Can you do the masonry too?

We handle the steel. A mason can repair the brick, and we coordinate the timing.
